Virginia Dental Insurance Coverages, How does a typical dental insurance plan work: I would liked to know how dental insurance plan work to save you money? The ones I see are costly and have waiting periods and annual max limitations. I do not that they really save you all that much money in the end.  Maybe I missing out on something or are there dental insurance plans that are not as restrictive?

There are three types of dental insurance plans. Dental HMO, Dental PPO and Indemnity plans.
Generlly speeking the plans that have waiting periods and yearly max limitations would be the PPO and the Indemnity plans. The plan terms and conditions will very depending on the plan some have very low waiting periods but may so have a low yearly max limit. It is very important when getting these types of dental insurance plan that you read and understand the terms and conditions. Many people buy these types of dental insurance plans inorder to stay with their own dental provider.
Dental HMO plan will not normally have waiting periods or yearly max limits but once again you still need to read though the plans terms and conditions to confirm this.
There is also another type of dental plan you can opt for which would be a dental discount plan. Now a dental discount plan is not insurance but they offer dental discounted savings off all dental services render with no waiting periods or yearly max limtaitons as well. Like an HMO dental insurance plan you do need to stay within the plan net work of dental providers.
